Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP)

Newfoundland

The Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) allows the Province to nominate applicants who meet established criteria, for Permanent Resident Status. The NLPNP offers:

An efficient immigration process for qualified skilled workers, international graduates and their families who wish to settle permanently in Newfoundland and Labrador; and
Assistance from provincial Immigration Program Development Officers who are available to explain the program requirements, and guide applicants throughout the application process.
Newfoundland and Labrador may nominate up to 1,050 individuals annually through the NLPNP, through the Skilled Worker, International Graduate, and Express Entry-Skilled Worker categories.

Applying to the NLPNP is a simple process. First, potential applicants must determine which of the categories they belong to – Skilled Worker, Express Entry Skilled Worker, or International Graduate. Following this, the potential applicant will download and complete all required provincial and federal forms for their category and gather the required supporting documentation (eg. Birth Certificates, Diplomas, Passports etc). Once this is complete, the candidate will send in all forms and documentation to the Office of Immigration and Multiculturalism. Below is a brief overview of the categories.

NOTE: If you are considering hiring a representative to complete your application, please see the section on Using Representatives, before proceeding. Your application will not be given special consideration if you use a representative, and OIM staff are available to assist you throughout the application process.

  • Express Entry Skilled Worker – This category is for skilled individuals who have been accepted into Citizenship and Immigration Canada’s Express Entry pool and who have a job offer in Newfoundland and Labrador. Disclaimer.
  • Skilled Worker – This category is for individuals who have a guaranteed offer of employment from a Newfoundland and Labrador employer, or are already working in the province on a valid Work Permit. Disclaimer.
  • International Graduate – This category is for recent graduates who have a Post-Graduate Work Permit and a job or job offer from a Newfoundland and Labrador employer.

Yukon Nominee Program (YNP)

Yukon

The Yukon Nominee Program (YNP) is run by the Yukon Government in partnership with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) under the “Agreement for Canada-Yukon Cooperation on Immigration.”

This partnership allows Yukon to nominate applicants who qualify to the federal government for permanent residency.

The YNP streams for Skilled Workers and Critical Impact Workers is locally driven and based on the needs of Yukon employers.

When eligible Yukon employers cannot find Canadian citizens or permanent residents to fill permanent full-time jobs, they can find workers from outside of Canada. We select internationally trained and experienced foreign workers who have the skills needed in the local labour market, and nominate them to receive Canadian permanent resident visas to settle and work in Yukon.

If you need help recruiting staff, visit our Employers page to learn about supports available to help you recruit or train people who are already in Yukon.

These are our Yukon Nominee programs:

  • The Skilled Worker Program is for qualified workers who fit into National Occupational Classification (NOC) 0, A or B categories.
  • Express Entry is for skilled workers who fit into National Occupational Classification (NOC) A, 0 and B.
  • The Critical Impact Worker Program is for qualified workers who fit into National Occupational Classification (NOC) C or D categories.
  • The Business Nominee Program is for individuals with proven business skills who want to own and operate businesses in Yukon.

Northwest Territories Nominee Program (NTNP)

Northwest

The Northwest Territories Nominee Program is delivered in partnership between the Government of the Northwest Territories and Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. The Nominee Program is designed to help employers in the Northwest Territories secure the workforce they need for their businesses. If an employer cannot find a candidate locally or nationally for a position, the next option is to find foreign nationals with the skills and experience for the job. If you are already working in the Northwest Territories, ask your employer about the Nominee Program and the different opportunities to help you become a permanent resident.

The Northwest Territories’ Nominee Program can help foreign nationals and their families make the beautiful Northwest Territories their permanent home. There are many opportunities here.

There are benefits from choosing the Northwest Territories as your home:

The lifestyle in the Northwest Territories is a desirable one for individuals and for families.
There are vibrant multi-cultural populations in several Northwest Territories communities.
Canadian work experience is gained.
The Northwest Territories is looking for your skills and education.
Due to the comparatively small population, the Northwest Territories is a great place for career development and advancement.
It is important to understand that Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada makes the final decisions on applications.

Employers may recruit and hire eligible foreign nationals who wish to work and live in the Northwest Territories when there are no qualified Canadians or permanent residents available. There are three program streams employers may use to hire foreign nationals:
