캐나다 방문시 필요한 eTA(Electronic Travel Authorization)실행이 얼마 남지 않았습니다.

9월 30일 부터는 반드시 eTA신청을 하셔야 합니다.

미국의 경우, 이와 유사한 ESTA가 운영중인데 이게 없다면 입국심사가 심각하게 늦어지거나 입국이 거부될 수 있고 비행기 탑승 자체가 거부 될 수도 있습니다.

캐나다도 이와 비슷하리라고 생각됩니다.

현재 Study permit, Work permit을 2015년 7월 31일 이전에 받으신 분들도 캐나다 재 입국시 eTA를 받으셔야 합니다. 이후에 받으신 분들은 안하셔도 됩니다.

한번 신청해 놓으면 5년간 유효합니다만, 여권 유효기간이 그보다 적게 남아있으면 그 여권 유효일자까지 입니다.

육로나 해상을 통한 입국인 경우 eTA가 필요 없습니다. 오직 항공편을 통한 입국에만 적용됩니다.

I want to extend my work or study permit. Do I need to apply for an eTA?

Yes. Once your work or study permit is approved and if you plan to leave the country and fly back to Canada:

• You will need to apply online for an eTA if you are from a visa-exempt country (other than the U.S.).
• If you already have an eTA, make sure it is valid for your extended stay in Canada.
  • You can check the status of your eTA online to find out when it expires.
  • If your eTA will expire during your stay, you will need to get a new eTA.
