캐나다 세무소(Canada Revenue Agency: CRA)를 사칭하는 이메일이나 전화가 왔을경우 주의 사항입니다.
CRA는 절대로 이메일로 링크를 보내거나 개인 정보 또는 금융기관 정보를 요청하지 않는다고 밝히고 있습니다.
의심이 간다면 CRA에 전화번호 1-800-959-8281로 확인하거나 CRA 홈페이지 www.cra.gc.ca/myaccount를 보면 됩니다.
다음과 같은 예시는 전화 금융 사기 일명 보이스 피싱 입니다.

전화의 경우
상당히 고압적인 목소리로 세금이 밀려있다고 말합니다. 그리고 발신번호표시(Caller ID)도 위장해서 표시가 되기때문에 개인, 회사 또는 정부기관이 디스플레이되더라도 믿을수 없읍니다.

세무서 직원이 보이스 메세지를 남긴것 처럼 보이는 형태입니다. 당신의 이름이 연방 세무법원에 세금사기로 범죄에 연루되어 있다고 시작합니다. 그리고 빨리 알려준 전화번호로 연락하라고 하지요. 한번 경고합니다. 만약 당신이 전화 안하면 법적인 후속책임이 뒤따르고 세금 문제가 아주 심각하게 발생한다고 경고합니다.

The reason behind this call is to notify you that we have registered a criminal case against your name concerning a tax evasion and tax fraud in the federal court house.
